Following on from World Mental Health day on Thursday 10th October, Poringland Primary School and Nursery is taking part in a week of exciting mindful activities through Mindful Monsters.
Inspired by Mindfulness, Mindful Monsters aims to help children learn mindfulness techniques through fun and interactive actives. Research has shown that those children who practise mindfulness show greater social confidence, emotional regulation and improved performance at school.
Throughout the week, children across all key stages took part in fun activities based around the 4 key characters: Thinky (concentration), Snug (relaxation), Sparky (creativity) and Giggles (positivity).
The week will culminate in a non-uniform day on Friday 18th October with donations to support Scope, the charity behind Mindful Monsters.
