Since returning to school this Spring term, all of the children have been working towards something very special: creating work to be presented in an exhibition. Taking inspiration from the Go Go Hare (purchased by our dedicated PTA), every child, from Nursery through to Year 6, has created a beautiful piece of art work inspired by this wonderful native creature.

Each piece was professionally mounted and framed by Images East Anglia.  Then, our school hall was transformed into a gallery where the children’s work was exhibited.

On Tuesday 6th February the exhibition was officially open for Parents and Carers to view from 3pm until the end of Parents Evening. A second viewing opportunity took place on Wednesday 7th February from 3pm until 6pm, again co-ordinating with Parents Evening.

Art Exhibition

During this 2 day event, Parents had the opportunity to purchase their children’s mounted and framed pieces. Duplicate copies could also be ordered. The price of the print included the cost of mounting and framing as well as the installation of the gallery within the hall.  As this was a fundraising event, a percentage was given to the PTA to add to the donations fund.  The hall looked amazing and the children were all extremely proud to showcase their work.

Thank you to everyone who attended the exhibition of our amazing children’s equally amazing artwork, inspired by the humble hare. Who knew that it was possible to gather so many of these energetic creatures together in such a confined space – the ‘Spring Watch’ team would be amazed!

One of the artists, whose work inspired one of our classes work, was invited to view the show. We were very fortunate that he was able to make it and had himself, recently finished painting three of the Hares in preparation for the Go-Go Hare Trail. Norfolk based Rob Barnes, was able to share some tips regarding the painting of our Leveret with Mrs. Rivers…so watch this space!

On Friday 23rd March, we had a special assembly where ‘Oakley’ the finished Go Go Hare was officially revealed to the school by Mrs Rivers, Mr Dean, and former headteacher Mr Everett.  Pupils, parents and staff have all been working under Mrs Rivers’ direction to prepare ‘Oakley’ for the trail.

An enormous ‘thank you’ to all of those who purchased their children’s pieces and our hard working PTA who initially booked this event and supported it throughout. The event raised a grand total of £559.50. We are very grateful for everyone’s support – it’s what makes our school so special!
