Modern Foreign Language (MFL) is good in our school when….
|We give all children the chance to learn a language.||It is taught in a creative and engaging way.||MFL is well-planned and integrated into the school day.||Children are taught strategies which they can apply to the learning of foreign languages.|
|So that||So that||So that||So that|
|They gain insights into their own lives and those of others around the world and reflect upon their own cultural identities and those of other people.||Children enjoy taking an active part in language lessons; they play games, take turns, role play and experiment with language.||Children hear and use the language repeatedly on a routine basis for example by using greetings, numbers, pictures and songs in the classroom.||They can communicate with other people, including native speakers and use TV, audio and CD to hear authentic native speaker voices.|
