South Norfolk School Sports Partnership

Throughout the year, we have competed in a large number of inter-school competitions. We are part of the South Norfolk School Sports Partnership.  For more information click here.

Spring 2019

Cluster Netball
On Tuesday 2nd April, Miss Burdett and Mrs Clark took the netball team to compete in the Framingham Earl Cluster Netball Tournament.  Well done to all who took part!  Our team finished 2nd overall!
Cluster Tag Rugby
On Monday 4th March, Mr Woodhams took a group of Year 6 children to take part in the Cluster Tag Rugby Competition.  The team won their opening match and very much enjoyed taking part.
Football results
On Tuesday 5th March, Mr Dean took the Year 6 footballers to play at Ashleigh Primary School in Wymondham.  The final score was 3-3.  Well done to all those who took part!
Norfolk County Cross Country Championships
Congratulations to Albie and Evie!  On Wednesday 6th March, they represented South Norfolk (and Poringland) at the County Cross Country Championship at Holt Country Park.
Swimming Success
On Thursday 24th January 2019, 6 children attended the South Norfolk Swimming Gala at the UEA and took part in both individual and relay races. They all were superb and contributed to the Framingham Earl cluster coming 3rd. A big well done to the children who should be very proud of themselves.

Autumn 2018

Sports Hall Athletics

In November 2018, a team of Year 5/6 children entered the cluster Sportshall Athletics tournament at Framingham Earl High School. The children competed in a wide range of track and field events, culminating in the excitement of the relays. We finished in 3rd place – well done to all the competitors!


Cross Country

On Wednesday 7th November, Miss Burdett took a large group of children to compete for Framingham Earl Cluster in the South Norfolk Cross Country Championships.  This year’s event was held at Old Buckenham Country Park.  The entire team did brilliantly – a huge well done to all of them!  However, a special mention should go to Albie and Evie, who have qualified for the County Finals later in the year.

Girls’ Football

On 11th October, a group of girls entered the South Norfolk Girls’ Football competition at Goals in Norwich.  They were so proud to finish 4th in their group!  Well done to all who took part and thank you to Miss Burdett for organising.



Cross Country

On Monday 1st October, Miss Burdett and Mrs Clark took a team of cross country runners to compete in a cluster competition. Well done to everyone who took part; you represented the school brilliantly! Thirteen runners qualified for the South Norfolk Championship at Old Buckenham Country Park. A massive congratulations c to Albie, Evie, Dixie, Ryan, Simon, Joseph, Tommy, Isabelle, Lily, Bethany, Megan, Bronte and Abbie!


We continue to run a weekly cross country club, with the help of Mr Raisborough.  We are also competing in the Norwich Cross Country League.


Summer Term 2018


On Thursday last week, the Year 6s were taken by Mr Woodhams to a Quick Cricket tournament at Sprowston Cricket Club.  The event was endorsed by ECB (England Cricket Board) and was attended by 8 schools from the district.

The team, consisting of Lewis, Dylan, Phoebe, Charlotte, Fraser, Thomas, Evie and Chloe, did extremely well, winning 3 of the 4 matches to finish 3rd overall.
The children did a fantastic job of representing our school and demonstrated an excellent competitve attitude as well as displaying great sportsmanship.

Two teams of children entered the South Norfolk School Sports Partnership Basketball Competition at Framingham earl High School.


The Poringland Warriors, made up of Joseph, Thomas, Charlotte and Joshua, won three out of 4 matches, and finished 3rd overall.  The Poringland Suns, made up of Lucas, Fenton, Oliver and Amber, won all of their matches, and finished as champions!  Well done to all the participants and thank you to Mrs Clark for organising the team.
