The new EACH fundraising Team are Sophia, Poppy, Jasmine and Lucy. On Monday 11 November, 3 of us had a meeting with Stacey at the EACH Fundraising headquarters.
We learnt that there is a need to fundraise £700,000 to cover the building costs for The Nook. If possible, with your help, we would like to raise £1000 again this academic year.
Did you know that The Nook is in the heart of Norfolk? If you take out r, f and l from ‘Norfolk’ you get ‘Nook’.
The main school fundraising event this term will be a (drum roll please…) Santa Run. This will be on the last day of term, Wednesday 18th December. Look out for more details, once Stacey has spoken to everyone in assembly. Elf and Santa hats will be available to buy.
We also heard from Stacey more about the official opening of The Nook on Friday 15th November 2019. We are very excited to have been chosen to wait at the door of the hospice when the Duchess of Cambridge arrives. Poringland Primary was chosen because of how well we interacted with the charity last year.
At the end of the Autumn Term, the choir went carol singing around the village and donated the proceeds to EACH and The Nook. Well done for raising a total of £ 87.60.
On the last day of term, all the children joined in with a Santa Run around the school grounds. Despite the cold December weather, everyone enjoyed themselves, and together we raised an amazing total of £577 for The Nook.
Thank you to Mrs Hayes for organising both events.
