For our topic ‘Keen to be Green’ we have been making eco-sculptures. To begin with, we took a walk through the school wood to find a location for our eco-sculptures. Once we had chosen a location, we designed an animal sculpture to match it.
Next, we collected our resources. These were items that would either have been recycled or sent to landfill. We used items such as bottle tops, cardboard boxes, tin cans and old items of clothing.
Once completed, following our designs, we completed an evaluation to identify what we liked about our eco-sculptures, what we found challenging and what we would change if we made another eco-sculpture.
Year 4 are organising an eco-sculpture trail in the school woods next week to celebrate everyone’s creations. Keep your eyes peeled for some interesting animal sculptures.
