During the academic year 2017-28, we wish to continue developing our teaching skills. We very much believe in being a healthy, active school. The staff have looked at the data for Obesity across the world, and know that the UK sits in 27th place, with an estimated percentage of 29% obesity in our population! We have been learning more about how important exercise is, not just for our health, but for how our brains actually work. In this phase, we have also been learning how memory works, and, again, it is fascinating to see how health and exercise link to memory and the ability to learn.
In pairs, teachers will be looking at active, fun ways of teaching a class of children something they struggle with and need to remember. We will try not to use writing and reading in this case, and see if we can prepare and perform a rhyme, a song or a performance that helps our children learn, and most importantly, retain some key facts.
