In February 2020, the Year 3 and Year 4 children were transported back in time to Ancient Egypt, as they all took part in a fantastic theme day.
The children started off their morning by finding out how Egypt was ruled. The children then split off into three groups. Each group had a turn at playing a game called ‘Hound and Jackel’, which was great fun and a mix between snakes and ladders and frustration. The second activity was led by Mark, the Ancient Egypt Expert; he showed the children a range of artefacts from ancient Egypt and told some amazing stories about them. The final activity was to have a go at a quiz.
After lunch, we all met back in the school hall, where the children learnt about and acted out Egyptian burial rituals and ceremonies.
The children have learnt so many things about that period of time!
